Our Model
The SDC 500 Model is a disc-type dryer designed to offer efficiency and control in the drying process. Its drive system, featuring a robust shaft-mounted design, operates via belts and pulleys, ensuring reliable and durable performance.
The vapor extraction system, characteristic of Conmetal, is designed to minimize solid carryover, guaranteeing the quality of residual vapors, which are subsequently utilized in the process.
It also incorporates an automatic non-condensable gas extraction system, optimizing dryer performance and ensuring efficient and stable operation.
Another key innovation in this model is the new disc design, developed to improve equipment reliability and reduce the risk of steam leaks in the short term. Its robust construction meets demanding industrial standards and enhances the efficiency of the drying process.
Unlike conventional siphon systems, which tend to detach and compromise thermal efficiency, the SDC 500 Model employs a spiral-type condensate extraction system, ensuring stable and continuous operation. This design guarantees effective condensate removal, maintaining optimal heat transfer and maximizing equipment performance in the long term.
With these features, the SDC 500 Model is positioned as a robust and effective solution for industrial processes requiring uniform and controlled drying.
Features
Designed to adapt to the specific requirements of each process, the SDC 500 offers an evaporation capacity of up to 6,000 kg/h, ensuring efficiency and operational reliability.
Thanks to its hermetic design and Conmetal’s proprietary system, the equipment minimizes solid carryover, ensuring excellent vapor quality. These vapors are directly utilized in the concentrate process, optimizing overall performance in fishmeal production.
Unlike conventional siphon systems, the SDC 500 employs a spiral-type condensate discharge system, ensuring stable and continuous operation. This design guarantees effective condensate removal, maintaining optimal heat transfer and maximizing equipment performance.
Incorporating a more robust and reliable construction, the SDC 500’s discs significantly reduce the risk of steam leaks in the short term. Their innovative design enhances equipment durability, ensuring efficient and stable operation over time.
The equipment casing features a heated jacket, which not only increases drying capacity but also protects against bacterial corrosion and extends the overall lifespan of the equipment, ensuring prolonged and efficient operation.
The SDC 500 Model can be configured according to process needs, adjusting the distribution of forward and reverse paddles. This allows the equipment to function as a homogenizer, handling large volumes of load from different sources, or to be optimized exclusively for drying, depending on user requirements.
The steam supply system and target outlet moisture levels can be integrated into an automated control system, allowing for precise and efficient operation, adapted to the specific needs of the process.

Energy
Designed primarily for the fishing industry. The CONMETAL Cooker is a unit for continuous operation with indirect heating, with capacities ranging from 10 t/hr to 60 t/hr of raw material.
Both the cylinder and the rotor are heated with boiler steam.
The unit is manufactured as a horizontal cylinder through which the raw material is conveyed by a rotor configured as a screw conveyor. The screw flights are stamped and have been specially designed to achieve cooking with a shorter residence time and therefore better preservation of the product’s protein qualities.
The CONMETAL Cooker is also designed for easy chemical cleaning. We also have reconditioned units available, subject to stock verification at our plant.
Disc-type dryer

We offer several standard models, with evaporation capacities ranging from 1,000 to 8,000 kg/h. Furthermore, our equipment stands out not only for its drying efficiency but also for its versatility in raw material transport. Depending on the configuration, the equipment can be adjusted to maximize drying capacity or transport and homogenization capacity, according to specific process needs.
Our disc dryers are manufactured from ASTM 515 or 516, Gr 70 carbon steel for their discs and casing, allowing them to operate at temperatures up to 400 °C and pressures of 12 bar. Additionally, Conmetal’s proprietary design is engineered to efficiently distribute torque in the drive zone, preventing significant mechanical failures and ensuring reliable and robust operation.
All our disc dryers come with a two-year warranty, ensuring support and reliability for your operation.
Our technology continues to evolve to deliver more efficient, reliable, and adaptable equipment for the needs of each process. Some key improvements include:
- Robust and reliable design, ensuring high operational durability.
- 22 mm sacrificial ring on each disc, extending its lifespan.
- Condensate evacuation via a spiral-type system, eliminating the use of siphons and ensuring stable thermal performance.
- Optimized design at the connection of the drive shaft to the rotor, which improves torque distribution and minimizes mechanical risks.
- Optimized energy efficiency, reducing electrical consumption during operation.
- Improved hermeticity, ensuring proper vapor evacuation with less solid carryover, optimizing energy utilization in the process.
- Possibility of customized configuration, allowing the distribution of forward and reverse paddles to be adapted according to process needs, either to maximize drying capacity or transport and homogenization capacity.
- Automation and control, with monitoring systems for steam supply and target outlet moisture levels, ensuring operational precision.
